Privacy & Cookies Policy
Last updated: 15 August 2026
At Go Travel Services, your trust matters to us just as much as getting you to the airport on time. As a small, family-run business, we only ever ask for the details we genuinely need to look after your journey — and we treat that information with the same care we bring to every booking. This policy explains, in plain English, what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the rights you have over it.
This policy applies to our website and to any booking, quote or enquiry you make with us by phone, WhatsApp, email or our website quote form. It is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are & how to contact us
Go Travel Services Ltd is a family-run, fixed-price private-hire and airport-transfer firm based in Salisbury, Wiltshire, owned and driven by Boris and his wife Gabby. We are a licensed private-hire operator with Wiltshire Council, with DBS-checked, fully licensed and insured drivers.
For the purposes of data protection law, Go Travel Services Ltd is the "data controller" of the personal information you share with us. That simply means we are responsible for deciding how and why your data is used, and for keeping it safe.
- Business: Go Travel Services Ltd
- Address: St Marys House, Netherhampton, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP2
- Phone / WhatsApp: 07880 167302
- Email: office@gotravelservices.co.uk
We are available 24/7, all year round. If you have any questions about this policy or about how we handle your data, please do get in touch — we're always happy to help. You can also reach us through our contact page.
What data we collect
We only collect the information we need to prepare an accurate quote and deliver your journey safely and smoothly. Depending on how you get in touch and what you book, this may include:
- Booking and quote details — your pick-up address and destination, travel date and time, number of passengers, luggage, and any child seats or special requirements you request.
- Your name — so we can prepare your booking and greet you correctly (including on your meet & greet name board).
- Your contact details — such as your phone number and email address, so we can confirm your booking, share your driver's details and reach you on the day.
- Flight or sailing information — for example, your flight number or crossing details, so we can monitor your arrival and adjust your pick-up to the real time you land or dock.
- Payment information — the details needed to take payment for your journey. We use a secure payment processor to handle card payments; we do not store your full card details ourselves.
- Messages and correspondence — anything you send us when you contact us or request a quote, whether by phone, WhatsApp, email or our website quote form.
We ask only for what's relevant to your journey, and you're never obliged to share more than you're comfortable with — though of course some details (such as your pick-up point and destination) are essential for us to provide the service.
How & why we use your data
We use your personal data to run our transfer service and to look after you as a customer. Under data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using your information, and ours are set out below.
- To provide the journey you've booked — preparing your quote, confirming your booking, allocating a driver and vehicle, monitoring your flight or sailing, and getting you to your destination. Lawful basis: performance of a contract with you.
- To communicate with you about your booking — sending confirmations, sharing your driver's name, photo and vehicle details before the day, and keeping you updated if anything changes. Lawful basis: performance of a contract, and our legitimate interests in running the service well.
- To take payment — processing payment for your fixed-price journey. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To keep proper business records — such as meeting our accounting, tax and licensing obligations as a private-hire operator. Lawful basis: legal obligation, and our legitimate interests.
- To answer enquiries and provide quotes — responding when you contact us or request a fixed-price quote. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to potential customers, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To improve our service and website — understanding how our website is used so we can make it better. Lawful basis: your consent (for non-essential cookies) and our legitimate interests.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we will not use it for unrelated marketing without your agreement.
Who we share your data with
We keep the circle small. We only share your information where it's needed to deliver your journey or run our business responsibly, and never for anyone else to market to you. This may include:
- Your driver — the driver assigned to your journey needs your name, pick-up and destination, timings and any relevant requirements (such as a child seat or flight number) so they can collect you correctly. All our drivers are DBS-checked, fully licensed and insured.
- Our payment processor — a trusted third-party provider handles card payments securely on our behalf.
- Professional and legal requirements — we may share information where we are legally required to, for example with Wiltshire Council in connection with our private-hire licensing, or with HMRC, our accountants or insurers, or where the law otherwise requires it.
Where we use third parties to process data for us, we choose them carefully and expect them to protect your information appropriately and use it only for the purposes we've agreed.
How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data only for as long as we genuinely need it. In practice, this means keeping your booking and journey details for as long as necessary to provide the service and to meet our legal, accounting and licensing obligations — for example, financial records are typically kept for the periods required by UK tax law. Once we no longer need your information, we securely delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have a number of rights over your personal data. These include:
- The right to be informed — to know how your data is used (which is what this policy is for).
- The right of access — to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to rectification — to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
- The right to erasure — to ask us to delete your data, where there's no ongoing reason for us to keep it.
- The right to restrict processing — to ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- The right to data portability — to receive your data in a portable format, in certain circumstances.
- The right to object — to object to us processing your data where we rely on our legitimate interests.
- Rights relating to consent — where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details above — we'll do our best to help promptly and free of charge. If you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your data, we'd genuinely like the chance to put things right, so please do speak to us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies & website analytics
Like most websites, ours uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to help the site work properly and to understand how it's being used. We use these broadly for two purposes:
- Essential cookies — needed for the website to function, such as remembering your session or letting the quote form work correctly. These are always on because the site can't run properly without them.
- Analytics cookies — which help us understand, in an aggregated and anonymous way, how visitors find and use our site (for example, which pages are most popular), so we can keep improving it. We only use these with your consent.
When you first visit our site, you can choose which non-essential cookies to accept. You can also manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings — though please note that turning off certain cookies may affect how parts of the site work. If we use third-party analytics tools, those providers may set their own cookies in line with their own privacy policies.
WhatsApp & other third-party services
Many of our customers find it easiest to book and chat with us over WhatsApp, and we're always happy to help that way. Please be aware that when you message us on WhatsApp, your communication is also handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own terms and privacy policy, which we don't control. The same applies to any other third-party platform you use to reach us. We use these services simply as a convenient way to talk to you, and we only use the details you share to help with your booking or enquiry.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if our services change or to reflect new legal requirements. When we do, we'll post the updated version here and change the "last updated" date at the top. We'd encourage you to check back occasionally so you're always aware of how we look after your information.
